Vaishali Nair is an HR executive at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements – India’s first prospective National Innovation University addressing challenges of urbanisation through an integrated programme of education, research, consulting and advisory services.

Vaishali’s responsibilities at IIHS include assisting in the formulation of HR policies and processes, doing research for the code of conduct and value and vision documents and conducting annual appraisals.
Vaishali has done her Masters in Life Sciences. She did her project on plant pathology, involving the study of the effects of growth hormones and other factors on tumors of Crown Gall disease in members of Apocynaceae.
Vaishali has been a part of the Faculty of Sciences for the Middle Years Program at Indus International School. She also organised the Science Club and Exhibition in 2010. She has been a participant teacher of community, action and service projects across middle school.
Vaishali has undertaken a teacher training programme certified by Intel and has received an Interactive Tools certification from Promethean. She has also attended a workshop on critical thinking conducted by Dr. Philip Balcaen and another on ‘Teaching Scientific Enquiry and Assessing to Aid Progress’ conducted by Lawrie Ryan.
Vaishali has received appreciation for her attempts to create new learning environments, organising professional development workshop for colleagues and her involvement with community service projects.
Vaishali enjoys organising events and engaging in community services. She has taught special needs children at a community school. She is also a keen sportsperson and has played basketball and throw ball at the school, college and club levels. She has also served as the team captain. Vaishali also loves travelling and trekking, playing paintball and reading Robin Cook thrillers.
