Over the next 5 years, IIHS will build a 100-strong nationally and globally recruited faculty team of academics, researchers and practitioners. This faculty will deliver interdisciplinary education to about 1,200 domestic and international undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students out of the IIHS campus in Bengaluru before scaling to other campuses in other locations in India. These international thought leaders are of the highest international standards and have conducted ground breaking research and led planning, implementation and delivery in diverse geographies and institutional conditions especially in India.
Another group of professionals will reach out to a much larger number of distance-learners and institutions engaged in urban issues who wish to avail of training and consultancy services. Apart from the close interaction of these two faculty pools, the space between theory and practice will be further bridged by drawing on leading practitioners and academics from around the world, who will be remunerated bearing in mind national and international levels of compensation. The search for faculty has commenced and has met with considerable enthusiasm in India and abroad.
A core group of Senior Advisors from India and abroad also assist in the design and delivery of the IIHS curriculum and advise on the particular challenges and sectors that IIHS Schools encompass. They are among the most experienced academics, professionals, policy makers and civil society leaders in contemporary South Asia and within IIHS global network of partner institutions.
